Setup 02A – Download Kardango for macOS

Purpose

Download the four files required for the supported Kardango training setup on macOS. Installation begins in the following films.

Before you begin

• Open the Kardango download page using the link supplied with your license or trial.
• Select the macOS tab.
• Use Kardango Setup under New Installation. Use Kardango Update only when Kardango is already installed and is being updated.
• If REAPER, SWS, or ReaPack is already installed and working, its download may be skipped.

Steps and key choices

1. Download the Kardango macOS installer. It is supplied as a PKG file.
2. If the browser requests download permission, choose Allow.
3. Open the official REAPER download page and choose macOS Universal. This supports both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.
4. Open the official SWS download page and select the build for your processor:
   • Apple silicon: ARM64
   • Intel Mac: x64
5. Open the official ReaPack download page and select:
   • Apple silicon: ARM64
   • Intel Mac: x86_64
6. Wait until every download has completed, then inspect the Downloads folder in Finder.

To identify your processor, open the Apple menu and choose About This Mac. A Chip field followed by an Apple name identifies an Apple silicon Mac.

Expected result

The Downloads folder contains:

• Kardango PKG
• REAPER DMG
• SWS DMG
• ReaPack DYLIB

Exact version numbers may differ from those shown in the film.

Common problems

• The wrong Kardango package was selected: Use Kardango Setup for a new installation, not Kardango Update.
• The SWS or ReaPack choice is unclear: Confirm whether the Mac uses Apple silicon or Intel before downloading.
• A Windows or 32-bit file was selected: Return to the official component page and choose the macOS build matching the processor.
• A component is already installed: If it is installed and working, its download can be skipped.
• Your system differs from the film: Use Setup Help for the affected component.
