Free setup training for Kardango and REAPER.

Setup Guide & Troubleshooting

Purpose

This setup adds ReaPack to the current REAPER installation on macOS. ReaPack is an extension file, not a DMG or installer application.

Before you begin

  • Complete Setup 02A and make sure the ReaPack file is in Downloads.
  • Select ARM64 for Apple silicon or x86_64 for an Intel Mac.
  • Quit REAPER completely before approving or copying the extension.
  • If ReaPack is already installed and visible in REAPER, continue to Setup 09.

Key steps

  1. In Downloads, find the file whose name begins with reaper_reapack and ends in .dylib.
  2. Double-click the DYLIB once so macOS can perform its security check.
  3. If macOS blocks the file, choose OK, then open System Settings → Privacy & Security.
  4. Find the ReaPack message, select Open Anyway, and authenticate if requested.
  5. If Terminal opens, close its window. ReaPack has now been approved, not installed.
  6. Start REAPER and choose Options → Show REAPER resource path in explorer or finder.
  7. Open UserPlugins, then quit REAPER while leaving the Finder window open.
  8. Drag the ReaPack DYLIB from Downloads into UserPlugins. Do not place it in the Kardango Scripts folder.
  9. Restart REAPER. If prompted, open the ReaPack file you approved.
  10. If ReaPack offers to configure its default repositories, keep the defaults and continue.
  11. Allow the initial synchronization to finish.
  12. Open Extensions and verify that ReaPack is present.
  13. Quit REAPER after the check.

Expected result

The processor-matched ReaPack DYLIB is inside the UserPlugins folder used by this REAPER installation. ReaPack appears in the Extensions menu after REAPER restarts.

Common problems

ReaPack is approved but not installed

Approval only allows the DYLIB to run. You must also copy it into the UserPlugins folder opened from REAPER.

ReaPack does not appear under Extensions

Check that:

  • the DYLIB matches your Mac’s processor;
  • it is in UserPlugins, not the Kardango Scripts folder;
  • REAPER was fully closed during the copy; and
  • REAPER was restarted afterward.

The repository window appears

Keep the default repositories as shown in the setup and wait for the initial synchronization to complete before continuing.
