Setup 02B – Download Kardango for Windows

Purpose

Download the four files required for the supported Kardango training setup on Windows. Installation begins in the following films.

Before you begin

• Open the Kardango download page using the link supplied with your license or trial.
• Select the Windows tab.
• Use Kardango Setup under New Installation. Use Kardango Update only when Kardango is already installed and is being updated.
• If REAPER, SWS, or ReaPack is already installed and working, its download may be skipped.

Steps and key choices

1. Download the Kardango Windows installer. It is supplied as an EXE file.
2. If the browser asks whether to keep or save it, confirm the download.
3. Open the official REAPER download page and choose the Windows x64 installer.
4. Open the official SWS download page and choose the latest stable 64-bit Windows installer.
5. Open the official ReaPack download page and choose Windows x64. This download is a DLL file.
6. Do not open or move the ReaPack DLL yet.
7. Wait until all downloads have completed, then inspect the Downloads folder in File Explorer.

Expected result

The Downloads folder contains:

• Kardango EXE
• REAPER EXE
• SWS EXE
• ReaPack DLL

Exact version numbers may differ from those shown in the film. Leave all four files in Downloads and do not run the Kardango installer yet.

Common problems

• The wrong Kardango package was selected: Use Kardango Setup for a new installation, not Kardango Update.
• The browser blocks or questions the download: Confirm that the file should be kept or saved, as demonstrated in the film.
• A 32-bit or macOS component was selected: Return to the official component page and choose the 64-bit Windows version.
• The ReaPack DLL was opened or moved: Leave it in Downloads until the ReaPack installation film.
• Your system differs from the film: Use Setup Help for the affected component.
