Free setup training for Kardango and REAPER.
Duration: 2:03
Setup Guide & Troubleshooting
Purpose
This step registers the numbered Kardango scripts in REAPER’s Action List. Once registered, the actions remain available after REAPER is restarted.
Before you begin
- Kardango must already be installed.
- REAPER must be installed and ready to use.
- Keep the installed
Kardangoscript folder in its original location. - Do not test the actions in an empty production project yet. The supplied demo project is connected in Training 00 and provides the correct starting point.
Steps and key actions
- Start REAPER.
- Open Actions > Show action list.
- Select New action > Load ReaScript.
- In the file browser, open REAPER’s
Scriptsfolder and then theKardangofolder created by the Kardango installer. - Select only the numbered Kardango action scripts. The selection begins with
00and ends with12, and includes the lettered actions01A,01B,08A, and08B. - Do not select every Lua file. Support files in the same folder must not be loaded as separate actions.
- A convenient way to select the range is to click the first numbered script, hold Shift, and click the last numbered script. Check the selection before continuing.
- Click Open to register the selected scripts.
- In the Action List’s Filter field, enter
Kardango.
ReaPack is not involved in this registration step. Load ReaScript is a standard REAPER function.
Expected result
The numbered Kardango actions appear in the filtered Action List. The sequence begins with 00 Kardango Project Setup and ends with 12 Kardango Asset Collections and Profiles.
The actions should still be present after you close and restart REAPER.
Common problems
The Kardango folder is missing
Return to the Kardango installation step for your operating system and confirm that installation completed. The installer normally creates the Kardango folder inside REAPER’s Scripts folder.
Support files appear in the Action List
They were probably selected together with the numbered scripts. Remove the incorrectly registered entries from the Action List and load only the numbered Kardango action scripts.
Some numbered actions are missing
Repeat New action > Load ReaScript and load the missing numbered scripts. Remember the lettered actions 01A, 01B, 08A, and 08B.
The actions disappear or stop working after files are moved
REAPER registers the installed script files at their current paths. Keep the Kardango script folder in its installed location rather than moving or renaming it.
An action was run in an empty project
