Before you begin

- No audio-device configuration or project is required during this check.
Steps and key actions
- Open Downloads in File Explorer and locate the REAPER x64 EXE file.
- Double-click the file to start the installer.
- If User Account Control asks whether the installer may make changes, choose Yes.
- Keep the standard installation folder and the default options shown in the film.
- Choose Install and wait until the process is complete.
- Choose Close and start REAPER.
- If REAPER does not start automatically, open it from the Windows Start menu.
- If the REAPER evaluation window appears, continue evaluating or enter an existing license.
- Confirm that the main REAPER window becomes fully visible.
- Quit REAPER completely before continuing.
Expected result
REAPER opens successfully in Windows and is ready for the required extensions.
Common problems

- User Account Control appears: Choose Yes to allow the installation.
- REAPER does not start after installation: Open it from the Windows Start menu.
- The evaluation window appears: It is not an installation error. Continue evaluating or enter a license.
